From Animorphs book 53: The Answer, by K.A. Applegate. This is the big finale, so SPOILER ALERT.
The Animorphs infiltrate the Yeerk Pool ship of Visser One. Jake, out of hatred for the Yeerks, orders Ax to drain the ship's pool as a diversion. Seventeen thousand helpless Yeerks are drained into space. Erek drains the power from the Pool ship's weapons to prevent violence. Tom gains control of the Blade ship and disables the Pool ship's engines. He prepares to take revenge against Visser One and the Animorphs.
Personally, I think the Bladeship is comparable in size to a Vor'cha class attack cruiser, or maby a D5 class. (Star Trek) A 747 (211 foot wingspan, 231 feet long.) just is not that big for a supposedly powerful battleship.
The sensors underneath the Poolship were estimated to be a quarter mile long. (Roughly 1400 feet off the top of my head.)
Perhaps I take this to seriously. Anyway, I was wondering if I could use this image on my Animorphs website. You will get the credit Capasin of course.
I'm thinking yes. In terms of relative size, the Blade Ship is about as big as an airplane (I think). The Pool Ship, however, is big enough to hover over the Animorphs' city (implied near the end to be Santa Barbara, CA) and dwarf a large building.
I'd like to amend what I said earlier: The Blade ship would need to be as big as a 747 passenger airplane in order to hold everything it's implied to have on board.
But what about the Yeerk truck ship? How big is THAT? If the Blade ship is already the size of an airplane and the truck ship is bigger... the Pool ship's hangar can only be so big. Where does it go besides that?
Here you go.
